After I Became the Childhood Friend of a Dual-Personality Boss

I transmigrated as an orphan in a small Italian town, but now I’m the Boss of Naples’ most powerful organization. The entire peninsula is my empire. I control everything, and I’ve made the organization rich by monopolizing the milk tea business. I’ve crushed every enemy, and people respectfully call me the Godmother. But unfortunately, I’m only a substitute. The real Boss is a mysterious demon currently possessing my childhood friend. He killed my family and maneuvered me into this position. He seems to want me dead, yet also has all sorts of dark ideas about me. My subordinates are itching to overthrow me, and their loyalty is anyone’s guess. But the ones I thought were traitors have all confessed their love for me, claiming they want to purge the court of corrupt officials. The golden-haired kid who recently joined is even more calculating. He seems to have his eye on my position, and even shamelessly says he wants everything. ...My fists are clenched. With threats both inside and out, how am I supposed to uncover the truth, kill that demon, save my childhood friend, get revenge, and, while I’m at it, save Naples, whose people are far too honest and simple? This is a tale of intrigue among Italian gangs, about building an organization and putting it on the road to legitimacy. Told in third person.
