A Little Closer, and I'll Lose Control

[Scheming flirtatious beauty VS cold, calculating mogul, a game of love. Please add to your reading list~]

Everyone says Lin Qingwu is head over heels for Jiang Yu.

She brings him breakfast, takes the drinks for him, and even brings him medicine when she has a fever, all while Jiang Yu cycles through girlfriend after girlfriend.

Because of this, people in their circle made fun of Lin Qingwu for all four years of college.

But she doesn’t care, because the person she loves isn’t Jiang Yu at all. It’s his impossibly aloof roommate, Shen Siyan.

The sole heir to the Shen family, a revered figure in Beijing’s social scene: cool, restrained, and indifferent, he keeps women at arm’s length. Everyone agrees he’s untouchable.

And the only thing he ever said to her was, “A man like Jiang Yu? He’s worth liking?”

Lin Qingwu lowered her head, not daring to look at him.

Then she heard Jiang Yu was going to marry the eldest daughter of the Xie family. She left Beijing, vanishing completely from everyone’s lives.

Later, Lin Qingwu returned to the city where her unrequited love had come to nothing, and spotted Shen Siyan in the crowd at a glance.

He was even colder than he’d been two years ago, his presence so oppressive that no one dared approach him.

Lin Qingwu tried to avoid him, but he cornered her at the end of a hallway.

The man glanced at Jiang Yu in the distance, then looked down at her and asked softly, “Do you like him that much?”

Lin Qingwu went rigid.

“He’s married now. Being a mistress is wrong. Why not...”

Shen Siyan paused, his gaze settling on her face. His voice was remarkably earnest. “Give me a try?”

Lin Qingwu’s breath caught.

After they got together, everyone said she was reaching above her station by dating Shen Siyan.

Only Shen Siyan knew he’d abandoned every moral principle for her, making sure she saw just how awful Jiang Yu was and personally arranging his marriage, all so she might look at him one more time.

Later, he pinned Lin Qingwu against the floor-to-ceiling windows of his villa. Outside, Jiang Yu was holding his wife.

Lin Qingwu instinctively turned to look.

The next second, a large hand covered her eyes. The man bent down and bit her earlobe, his voice husky: “Don’t look at him. Look at me.”
