Some people say that the person you're set up with in the future is probably someone you went to school with, especially someone from high school.
Hu Luo scoffed. With all the damn guys in her high school class, if even one of them had been normal, she wouldn't have had to miss out on a teenage romance.
That is, until she found herself sitting face-to-face with Zhang Zhichuan.
-
Hu Luo had no impression of Zhang Zhichuan at all. First of all, he looked ordinary, extremely ordinary, the kind of guy who still seemed a little too ordinary even in a crowd of ordinary men.
He claimed he was 183 centimeters tall. We all know how reliable those measurements are.
His grades were nothing special either. Chinese was his worst subject, and 98 was his highest history score in three years. He got lucky on the college entrance exam and scored 111.
He was no good with people, either. Nobody else in class signed up for the three-kilometer run, but he did every year. His deskmate cheered so hard she lost her voice, and he didn't even know to be grateful.
But none of that mattered. Men being a little lacking was normal, after all.
The worst part was that he was a jerk! He'd agreed to play badminton with his deskmate yesterday, but stood her up the next day to feed the goldfish shoulder-to-shoulder with a pretty girl from the next class!
Her friend was stunned. "How do you know all that?"
Hu Luo faltered, then waved her hand. "That's not the point. The point is, he's no good in any way, shape, or form."
-
Now the guy who was no good in any way, shape, or form was sitting right in front of her.
Looking at her old deskmate across the table, whose accent hadn't changed and whose hair hadn't gone gray, Hu Luo regretfully said, "Sorry, I'm a one-man kind of woman. I didn't like you back then, and I won't like you now."
He gave a slight nod. "What a coincidence. Neither do I."
Hu Luo clenched her teeth. You damn #%$*, how can you not like a gorgeous woman like me
Then she heard him say, unhurriedly, "I pursued you back then, and I'm pursuing you now."
-Mouths say one thing, hearts mean another, times two
-You were the one back then, now it's my turn
