Xiang Wu lost her memory.
As if that weren't enough, when she opened her eyes, she discovered that the starship she was on had been hijacked by space pirates.
The other captives behind her were flustered and helpless, the mood bleak. The space pirate tugging at her hair crowed triumphantly, delivering a classic villain's taunt.
"Run! Weren't you so tough just now? Why aren't you running now?"
Xiang Wu: ...
You asked for it.
A quarter of an hour later, Xiang Wu held a gun to the space pirate leader's temple. "Laugh! Weren't you laughing so brazenly just now? Why did you stop?"
Space pirate leader: (trembling all over) (covered in cold sweat)
The other rescued captives: (clutching their hearts) (staring in admiration)
The only clue Xiang Wu had after losing her memory pointed to Aurora Military Academy.
To search for her memories, Xiang Wu signed up for Aurora Military Academy's entrance competition.
As the Federation's number one military academy, Aurora was packed with talent, including no shortage of celebrity candidates.
Once the competition began, citizens across the stars flocked to the livestreams for the regions where their favorite celebrity candidates were competing.
No one paid attention to the unknown cannon-fodder candidates.
Until...
A name no one had ever heard of suddenly appeared near the top of the points leaderboard, and viewers across the Star Network finally turned their attention to a livestream tucked away in the corner.
"Who is this? She's covered in injuries and still dares to enter Aurora's entrance competition. Isn't she way too arrogant?"
"Hah, I can't stand arrogant people who don't respect their opponents."
"I bet she cheated when we weren't looking. Otherwise, how could her score be higher than Candidate A's, when they're in the same round?"
The doubts came one after another. Unable to see the comments, Xiang Wu kept diligently completing tasks and earning points.
Just then, everyone noticed that Xiang Wu's livestream had merged with the livestream of celebrity candidate A.
The Star Network viewers were thrilled. "Of all the things to do, she had to cheat! Let someone with real skill teach her a lesson!"
A few minutes later,
The much-favored celebrity candidate A raised both hands and burst into tears. "Boss, I'll call you Boss! Please let me go!!!"
Star Network viewers: ???
Everyone thought it was just a one-off fluke.
"So what if she's good at fighting with her bare hands? She applied to the Mecha Combat Division. Mecha skills are what matter most."
"Exactly. I heard this person comes from an abandoned Blue Star. She's probably never even touched a mecha."
"Can't wait to see her get eliminated."
Later...
Xiang Wu once again piloted a mecha and knocked one of their favorite celebrity candidates to the ground.
Xiang Wu: Boring.
Celebrity candidate: ...
Star Network viewers: ... We're numb.
Much later...
B gave an awkward, cold snort. "I reluctantly acknowledge your abilities. From now on, I'll follow your orders."
C gazed at her with starry-eyed admiration. "Sister Xiang, Sister Xiang, how did you do that just now? Please, teach me!"
D reached out in a friendly gesture. "I look forward to working with you, Captain."
Even Aurora's principal and a colonel from the Central Military Base were extremely pleased with Xiang Wu.
The younger generation of our Federation is formidable. The future looks bright.
Xiang Wu, focused on finding her memories: Huh? Why is everyone looking at me? Do you know me?
Theme: Confidence is most important
