China Space Station (English: China Space Station, abbreviation: CSS, also known as: Tiangong Space Station) is a national space laboratory built by the People's Republic of China.
The China Space Station has an orbital height of 400 to 450 kilometers, an inclination of 42 to 43 degrees, a design life of 10 years, long-term accommodation for 3 people, and a total weight of up to 180 tons for larger-scale space applications. In 1992, the Chinese government formulated a "three-step" development strategy for the manned space project. The completion of the space station is an important goal of the development strategy.
At 8:54 on May 10, 2022, the Tianzhou-4 cargo spacecraft adopted the autonomous rapid rendezvous and docking mode and successfully docked with the rearward port of the Tianhe core module of the space station.
At 14:22 on July 24, 2022, Beijing time, the Long March 5B Yao-3 carrier rocket carrying the Wentian experimental module was ignited and launched from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in China. The launch was a complete success. At 3:13 on July 25, 2022, Beijing time, the Wentian experimental module was successfully docked with the forward port of the Tianhe core module. The entire rendezvous and docking process lasted about 13 hours. In August, the Mengtian Experimental Module, the second experimental module of the China Space Station, arrived at the Wenchang Space Launch Site. The identification of subsequent missions during the construction phase of the space station was released. In October, the Mengtian experimental module was launched. On November 3, the Mengtian experimental module of the space station successfully completed its translocation, and the basic "T" shape configuration of the space station was assembled in orbit. At 10:03 on November 12, 2022, Beijing time, the Long March 7 Yao-6 carrier rocket carrying the Tianzhou-5 cargo spacecraft was ignited and launched from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in China. The Tianzhou-5 cargo spacecraft successfully separated from the rocket and entered the predetermined orbit. The spacecraft's solar panels started working smoothly, and the launch was a complete success. In the future, the Tianzhou-5 cargo spacecraft will conduct autonomous and rapid rendezvous and docking with the space station assembly in orbit. At 12:10 on November 12, the Tianzhou-5 cargo spacecraft successfully docked at the rearward port of the Tianhe core module of the space station.
