The Year the Empress Died

When she was young, Huo Changle loved Li Che. After her father found out, he forced Li Che to marry her and become the emperor's wife, while also driving Li Che's beloved to her death.

Ten years later, Li Che seized power. The entire Huo family was wiped out: her father died, her mother died of grief, and her older brother took his own life.

In the end, she died too. So why was he so devastated?

(P.S. An old-school, angsty melodrama. There are other subscription stories in my collection!)

Theme: Pursue freedom.
