Tushan Le is the only fox born with nine tails in Qingqiu since the Cataclysm of the Liches.
All the foxes of Qingqiu dote on this little creature, a symbol of good fortune, and the little fox always seems cheerful.
But Tushan Le has a secret: he is actually a human from several thousand years in the future, at least in spirit.
So he isn’t really happy. He spends every day diligently cultivating to keep his secret identity hidden, and feels that his life… or rather, fox life, is all there is.
Until one day, his older sister, Nujiao, tells him she is getting married to a man named Dayu.
Vaguely remembering Nujiao’s fate in the legends, Tushan Yue decides that this marriage must not happen.
But Tushan Nujiao tells him it is Heaven’s will.
Afraid his secret identity will be exposed, Tushan Le backs down, but not completely. At the very least, he can’t let his sister turn into a stone waiting for her husband’s return.
He has to do his best to help his sister survive.
As he keeps trying, his sister becomes an empress, then an empress dowager.
And he becomes the Imperial Preceptor.
Thinking of what happened to the Imperial Preceptors throughout history, Tushan Le feels his days are numbered.
No, he has to run.
But how did things end up like this?
After faking his death and being worshipped as the God of Agriculture, Tushan Le can’t feel happy at all, because the Heavenly Court is short-staffed and has come to drag him away!
