The Ailing Beauty: A Mystery

Jiang Wu is sickly. He spent two years seriously injured, then three more recovering.

On the first day Jiang Wu returned to the imperial capital, still dragging his ailing body around, a fifth-rank official died.

Given Jiang Wu's outstanding ability to solve cases, the official's wife personally asked him to investigate.

From then on, Jiang Wu was drawn into the affair, uncovering a vast web connecting numerous cases, beginning with an official's suicide.

It is said that five years ago, a treason case took place in the imperial capital.

The case ended with the head of the Jiang family taking his own life out of guilt. Almost everyone in the household died.

Only Jiang Wu survived.

Five years later, Jiang Wu returned, determined to uncover the truth of what happened back then.

Along the way, Jiang Wu met a wealthy young master.

Yun Zhihe was generous with money and attentive to detail. From their first meeting, Jiang Wu thought he had the makings of a fine investigator.

There was only one thing wrong with him: he was always clinging to Jiang Wu.

When Jiang Wu returned to the imperial capital, he came along.

When Jiang Wu fell ill, he stayed by his side.

When Jiang Wu investigated cases, he came along too.

Even when Jiang Wu was caught up in one unsolved case after another and had no choice in the matter, he still followed.

He was also the only one who stayed by Jiang Wu's side from beginning to end.

People said that Jiang Wu, the son of a disgraced official, had entered government service despite his frail health, and must have ulterior motives.

Only Yun Zhihe understood Jiang Wu's intentions from the moment they met again.

Everyone has their own agenda, and Jiang Wu's...

was simply justice.
