The Tamer and His Fledgling Birds

Damian had always had a vague feeling that his life wasn't supposed to be like this.

Not that being born into an assassin family and made into a killing tool was abnormal, nor that it was strange to put on a skintight suit and swing through the sky at night to fight crime.

It was just that his life shouldn't be at this point, shouldn't be... going like this?

The feeling was so strange and baseless that Damian always ignored it. Even though it was the main reason he couldn't get interested in anything around him, he didn't care. He only cared about Batman, the strongest man in the world in his eyes, his father.

Learning the rules and principles for living in this house was already the absolute limit of what Damian could tolerate.

But as time went on, one by one, the little birds flew into the dull, silent Wayne Manor.

Damian's mysterious intuition suddenly became clear, as if the hands of the clock had returned to their proper course. Backward, perhaps, but at least it was on track.

Damian (18): I'm the eldest brother. No love, no warmth, just hard-hitting.

Damian (28): The faithful are willing to eat vegetarian for the rest of their lives, just to pray for a peaceful family and success in all things... How many times have I told you, Dick, stop running around in those tiny shorts! Where's Jason? Get Tim over here!
