[A domineering, devil-may-care villainess x a cool, sweet, beautiful husband]
I was reborn.
But my body had been taken over by a woman who had transmigrated into this world.
Listening to her mutter to herself in front of the mirror, I learned that the world I lived in was actually a book, and that I was the villainess in it.
The woman who had transmigrated into the book clearly had no grand ambitions. She decided she would never oppose the protagonist and would just lie flat. But her first move was to eliminate a threat in the book: my beloved husband, the one I treasured above all else, my beautiful little moon.
The woman who had transmigrated into the book said, “He's a spy sent by the enemy.”
As if I needed you to tell me. I knew that in my previous life. Before I died, I imprisoned him in the courtyard for ten whole years. The deeper my love had been, the more intense my hatred became. I laid all my hatred at his feet.
But only on my deathbed did I learn certain hidden truths: he had never harmed me. He loved me more than life itself.
But this half-baked woman who had transmigrated into the book didn't know that.
She was convinced my little moon would harm her, so she decided to strike first.
One cup of poisoned wine blinded him. Then she severed the tendons in his hands and feet and threw him into a dungeon with no visible bottom.
I was going mad, but I couldn't save him.
Now I was a rat everyone wanted to beat to death. After many twists and turns, I made it into the dungeon, hoping to keep him company. Instead, I scared him so badly he nearly fainted.
He was terrified of rats.
All I could do was watch him from a distance.
He had a fever. His thin back rested against the cold brick wall as he tilted his head up and stared blankly into space. Then, in silence, he shed a line of bloody tears.
I suddenly remembered my previous life. He had often sat just like that on the roof of the courtyard house, tilting his neck back to look at the moon. He would sit there all night.
I remembered the day of my wedding. He leaped from the top of a tall building, dressed in white just as he had been when we first met, yet in the snow he bloomed like the most vivid flower...
No. I had to save him. I couldn't let him keep repeating the same tragic fate for the rest of his life.
So I did everything I could to ruin his relationship with the woman who had transmigrated into the book. In the end, I finally made my little moon hate her with all his heart.
And then
I returned to the body that had originally been mine.
A few things to know before reading:
1. The blurb is in first person, while the main story is in third person. The heroine transmigrates into a fancy rat, so just go with it, okay?
2. You can tell from the blurb that this is extremely melodramatic. The male lead is actually very powerful. The reason he doesn't fight back in front of the woman who transmigrated into the book is that he mistakes her for the original owner of the body. Deep down, he's a love-struck fool, and very obedient.
3. Male pregnancy, a bittersweet tone, and mostly angst for the male lead. Later on, the heroine dotes on him.
Theme: Love is written in the stars.
