Synopsis:
After the Su family's business went into decline, they arranged a business marriage with the flourishing Ruan family in hopes of turning things around. They married their only daughter, Su Wan, who had just graduated, to the Ruan family's eldest son, Ruan Yixuan.
On their wedding day, Ruan Yixuan, unhappy with his parents for arranging his marriage, abandoned the bride and ran off. With the guests all waiting, the Ruan family made a last-minute decision: the younger daughter, Ruan Yiting, would marry in her brother's place.
Marry her sister-in-law? What kind of joke was that? She wouldn't inherit any of the family fortune, and now she was expected to marry the woman her older brother didn't want? Did they think she was an idiot? On their wedding night, Ruan Yiting kicked open the bedroom door. They wanted to get married, didn't they? Then they might as well go all the way with the act.
Su Wan had married into the Ruan family purely for their business alliance. She didn't care who the groom was, or whether they were a man or a woman, as long as the Ruan family agreed to invest. She just hadn't expected Ruan Yiting, who had scowled through the entire wedding, to barge in that night.
"Disappointed that it wasn't my older brother who came in?" Ruan Yiting said with casual mockery.
Su Wan played along. "Of course not. I like you much more than your brother."
Gradually, Ruan Yiting realized that this seemingly frail woman was as adaptable as water. No matter how she picked on her, Su Wan always responded calmly and gently.
Then one night, Ruan Yiting came home to find Su Wan in a nightgown in the living room, chatting warmly with Ruan Yixuan, who had just returned from a business dinner reeking of alcohol.
The red at the corner of Su Wan's eyes tilted upward as she looked at Ruan Yiting provocatively. "You're home early today."
Ruan Yiting glanced at the clock on the wall. It was one in the morning.
How do you get Ruan Yiting completely under your thumb?
Make her jealous.
