Livestreaming History Books with People from the Past

A zero-follower streamer in the study section of a certain site vows to livestream reading history books to keep herself motivated. A traditional Chinese edition from Zhongx Bookstore: vertical text, classical Chinese, no... well, it does have punctuation. The earlier the history book, the harder it is to read, so let's start with The Zuo Commentary to the Spring and Autumn Annals. Reader's guide: 1. The author is reading The Spring and Autumn Annals as she writes, so the story may be revised at any time. Corrections are welcome. 2. The material in [ ] is based on sources. The characters' words are a mix of truth and fiction. If you can't tell which is which, assume all of it is made up. 3. The writing style is dispassionate, and this is essentially an educational story. It's a non-mainstream reaction fic, with learning as its ultimate purpose. 4. The main characters are historical figures, not the streamer. The streamer is merely an emotionless snark machine. 5. Historical records may include scenes of couples being sweet or falling out, so this is categorized as romance. Completed historical derivative: From Princess to Lord (Spring and Autumn Period), about a princess of Chu unearthed through archaeological excavation who follows her lord. ***Upcoming historical danmei novel (already underway!)*** [Two kings face off, love and hate each other, childhood friends turned enemies. Steady older pursuer x arrogant, sinister love interest (after their falling-out)] For three hundred years, the land of Jiuzhou Huaxia has enjoyed peace under the rule of the Luo clan. Sadly, their descendants proved unworthy and eventually followed in the footsteps of the Ji Zhou dynasty. They claimed to have unified the realm, but in truth, each ruled independently. The only thing going for them was that the imperial family still had enough strength to just about rival the four feudal lords in the east, south, west, and north. "When Qin lost its deer, all under heaven gave chase." In the 324th year of the Great Luo dynasty, the emperor is to be married, and the feudal lords from all four corners of the realm gather at court. Under the surface, currents swirl, and everyone harbors their own schemes. * On this trip to the capital, Southern King Xu Jiao brings his heir along, hoping to give his foolish son some worldly experience. Before they set out, he specifically warns him to watch his words and actions, or else he'll be left behind in Luo Jing as a hostage. Xu Yilu obediently agrees, then immediately gets himself into serious trouble. Xu Jiao wouldn't have been furious simply because his son fell in love with a man. The real problem is that the man is the heir of the Western Kingdom. * Of course, Xu Yilu doesn't know that twenty-two years ago, the Southern Kingdom had a distinguished guest. His name was Xie Chenqiu. He was the heir of the Western Kingdom, driven into exile by his elder brother's persecution. His grandfather, the old Southern King, saw his value and arranged for him to stay with Xu Yilu's father, then still a young man. To Xu Jiao, Xie Chenqiu was like a teacher, an older brother, and a friend. Their love was only natural. But Xie Chenqiu always longed for his homeland. * Later, turmoil broke out in the Western Kingdom, and they had no choice but to summon the heir, who had spent many years in exile, back to rule. For the only time in his life, Southern King Xu Jiao set aside his pride, all to keep his beloved by his side. Seven years had made him confident that he knew Xie Chenqiu inside and out. In the end, he lost everything. * He wants Xie Chenqiu dead. Moral: Learning helps us improve.
