The three major ups and downs in Xu Chengyue's life are all tied to two people: Jiang Yixian and Xu Xiyue.
He first met Jiang Yixian while moving classrooms, and that became the first turning point in his life.
He and Jiang Yixian met and fell in love.
They spent two wonderful years of high school together.
But just when Xu Chengyue was at his happiest, he received an order from Xu Xiyue: break up with Jiang Yixian and give up his career as a novelist.
Xu Chengyue savored his last three days, then left with his suitcase in the pouring rain.
The rain beat down on him as the boy behind him chased after him with an umbrella.

He thought his life would keep going downhill, until a friend recommended a mental health clinic where he could get treatment for an old condition.
The moment he opened the door, he was stunned. Sitting inside was the person he had fantasized about and missed countless times.

And so began life with his ex-boyfriend.
As they spent day after day together, he realized something was off about his ex-boyfriend.

His ex proposed living together under the pretext of observing him.

His ex started picking him up after work and taking him home, supposedly for his safety.

Jiang Yixian massaged his aching muscles. "I never said I didn't."
"I've loved you all along."
