In his previous life, Qiao Shusheng was a gifted genius. But after being set up by his rival, he was vilified across the internet and left on the brink of death.
When he had nowhere else to turn, Chi Xingchen stepped in to save the day. He bet the future of Xingchen Entertainment on Qiao Shusheng, signed him, and shouldered the pressure all by himself, determined to let the entire entertainment industry see Qiao Shusheng's talent.
At last, Qiao Shusheng's textbook-perfect acting reached the pinnacle of mastery. He won award after award and became, without question, the top star in the entertainment industry.
But Chi Xingchen died young of an illness and never got to see it.
Reborn, Qiao Shusheng is nineteen, in the prime of his youth, and has just been selected as that year's most promising newcomer in the entertainment industry.
This time, his rival hasn't set him up yet. He hasn't been vilified across the internet or left with no work.
Most importantly, Chi Xingchen is still alive and well. He hasn't contracted a terminal illness.
Qiao Shusheng still has time to treat Chi Xingchen well, and a chance to take him to see the scenery beyond their dreams.
So when entertainment companies compete to sign him, Qiao Shusheng chooses Xingchen Entertainment, a lousy company on the verge of bankruptcy, over all the popular contenders. The internet erupts.
Everyone wonders what kind of spell Chi Xingchen has cast on Qiao Shusheng.
But they don't know that the day before signing the contract, Qiao Shusheng pushed open the door of Xingchen Entertainment and said five words to Chi Xingchen, who was at the lowest point of his career.
"Chi Xingchen, sign me."
