This is a slice-of-life story with no real main plot and no major twists. Everything is written pretty casually. It's less a proper novel than a bit of practice.
The gist is: The story begins with a man reminiscing about meeting his future partner in high school as he tries to get his son to sleep.
Because of his household registration, he had to transfer schools during his final year of high school. That's when he met the guy who carried a school leave slip in his pocket but still came out to drive an unlicensed taxi. Back then, he was still a boy...
In his nineteen years, Qi Wen never imagined that a boy would confess to him in high school. He never imagined that, on the eve of the college entrance exams, he would fall for another boy.
Looking back on it later, Qi Wen would always laugh helplessly and sigh, "That was so damn absurd."
Qi Wen: a bit of an idiot, fair-skinned, and decisive. Jiang Zhe: stubborn, simple-minded, and slow to recognize his feelings.
I don't know if they'll get together or not. Anyway, they're both virgins, and it's so clean you can practically see the fish blowing bubbles in the water.
Everything below the neck is cut off.
Take it slow. I often use these stories to practice, and I hope I'll keep getting better!
Theme: A distant unrequited love story always needs an ending.
