I came up with this while chatting with a friend and am saving the idea here to remind myself to write it someday (fist pump).
I want to write a story about Naeki, a beloved daughter who has both parents and plenty of friends and family, and who has been a prodigy since childhood, keeping her distance from the Organization. She and Hiro met a few times as kids, then reunite as adults.
A rather half-baked childhood-friends story (maybe).
The blurb can wait. I'll figure it out once I start writing.
[Blurb]
Hello, my name is Shinohara Naeki. I currently work in the First Investigation Division as an ordinary detective. Aside from having to investigate a few unresolved issues left behind by the previous generation, I lead a fairly peaceful, comfortable daily life.
But not long ago, on my way home in the middle of the night after leaving a mixer, I accidentally found my childhood friend and senior from the police academy. He was covered in blood, unconscious, and looked close to death.
At the same time, the strange System that had suddenly appeared in my mind when I was four and occasionally spoke during my childhood let out a scream.
[Aaaaaaaaaah!!!]
No, several screams.
"How annoying," I said expressionlessly.
[Oh, don't worry about the details!! Hurry up and save him!!!]
"...Shut up."
As always, the System was unbearably noisy, giving me a headache and making my ears hurt. The person in front of me seemed to be dying, so it was best not to waste any time. I didn't want to count how many exclamation marks it had used this time.
But just after I said that, I met the eyes of the person who had been unconscious moments earlier. His mouth, which had just opened, closed again. His blue eyes were filled with hesitation, and he looked like he wanted to say something but couldn't.
Me: ...
Sorry, Kei. I wasn't telling you to shut up.
1. The main story is in third person. The pairing is with Hiro. There are no other love interests or ships.
2. Naeki won't join the Organization this time, and won't have much to do with it either (no need to be a fake agent, yay!). Her childhood will be free of trauma. Her personality will differ from the last book, but she'll still be herself!
3. I want to write a story about childhood friends reuniting as adults. Writing this out of love, updates whenever I feel like it (you).
4. The timeline starts in childhood and proceeds in order, so it may be a slow burn. As for the System... you'll understand what it is when you read it.
Theme: Never mind, I'll come up with one when I think of it.
