As a triple-S-level Alpha, Ni Lan picks up a young writer today, flirts with a rich younger man tomorrow, and parties her days away.
Recently, she's set her sights on the esteemed prince.
As the youngest heir to the royal family, Zhou Chengjin has always been the epitome of the pure-blooded humans: elegant, upright, just, and firm. Even each strand of his hair carries an air of sacred dignity.
But the moment he sees Ni Lan's tentacles, his gaze starts to wander.
*
Unlike pure-blooded humans, the people of the Teyin race display certain unusual traits. Some grow tails, while others develop animal ears.
Ni Lan has thick, nimble tentacles. They can easily undo complicated knots and bend apart sturdy metal railings.
With this formidable weapon, she came from the distant planet of Akadinas to Blue Star, broke through layers of security, and secretly infiltrated a city of pure-blooded humans, becoming a drop in a vast sea of people.
She lived here under an assumed name, and before she knew it, a long time had passed.
So long that the world had changed beyond recognition, and war once again engulfed Blue Star.
*
Everyone thinks Zhou Chengjin is a paragon of self-restraint. Yet with a great war looming, he corners Ni Lan somewhere secluded, his fingers trembling as he tries to unfasten her armor.
In a muddled state, he presses Ni Lan's tentacles against his face, then breathes warm, damp air against her neck, doing his best to please her. "A-Lan, you... help me before you go. It won't take long."
Ni Lan is at a loss for words.
All she'd done was speak a little flippantly. She hadn't even tried anything yet. How had Zhou Chengjin ended up like this?
