Nonhuman City and the ER Doctor

Beastfolk, vampires, angels, succubi, tentacle monsters, water spirits, and witches: nonhumans like these hide among the crowds of the bustling human city.

By day, Yin Ziran is an ordinary emergency-room doctor. By night, she runs a basement clinic at home, specifically for nonhumans, whether she likes it or not.

Whenever she wants to get a good night’s sleep, some strange creature comes crashing through her front door.

“Doctor! My beastfolk buddy got shot in the balls in a gang fight!”

“Doctor! I accidentally burned my tentacle in the oven. Help me!”

“Doctor, I haven’t had any blood for days. Can you prescribe something to stave off the hunger? ...Actually, your blood would be even better.”

Doctor, doctor, doctor...

“I’m sick of this! How many times do I have to tell you? My home is not a clinic!” She glares at the nonhumans who come seeking her out.

Crash!

Her front door comes tumbling down.

A handsome, towering man who looks anything but human stands outside, huge membranous wings on his back. He strides in with breathtaking elegance.

He reins in the fearsome aura that makes all nonhumans tremble, looks at her expectantly, and asks politely and shyly, “Doctor, I’m in heat. Could you help me...?”

“...Get lost!”

This world is beyond saving.

* A fluffy, illogical story, written purely for my own enjoyment. Updates are irregular.

* Lighthearted little stories, probably about a tough-talking but soft-hearted heroine and her useless nonhumans, lol.

* The characters are fictional, and the story contains disturbing behavior and dialogue. Read with caution.
