Li Mengyuan goes on a blind date with an idiot and wrecks the whole thing. Her stepmother asks if she has a brain tumor, since she managed to drive away such a great guy.

So she heads straight to the hospital, planning to shove a CT scan in her stepmother’s face and prove who really has a tumor.

The doctor who is supposed to examine her tumor slides is tall and long-legged, with a face as finely cut as jade. His whole being radiates an aloof, sexless aura, and he hits every one of Li Mengyuan’s buttons.

She had just been visually assaulted, but quickly surrenders.

Calmly, she adjusts her hair, glances at the man’s name tag, and gives him her most charming smile. “Hello, Dr. Jiang.”

The man really does stare at her without looking away. Li Mengyuan thinks, Just as I thought. No man can resist my beauty.

The next second, the man says in a deep voice:

“This is the andrology clinic. Oncology is next door.”

To resist her stepmother’s attempts to force her into marriage, she moves in with him.

Watching the man bustle around the kitchen, she becomes more and more convinced that if she’s going to get married, she should pick someone she likes looking at.

So she puts every trick she has learned from Mary Sue heroines in romance novels and years of internet surfing to use.

- Can you teach me how to make tangyuan? I’m so clumsy that I always give myself away, even when I like you.

The man replies right away.

She pursues him relentlessly, while his responses remain lukewarm.

Just as she is about to give up, one late night, the man pins her against the wall, reversing their positions. His voice is hoarse. “Where are you going?”

He brushes her ear. “Do you still like me? Hmm?”

That night, she learns that when a lofty, untouchable beauty falls from his pedestal, consumed by desire, it is the most deadly temptation of all, impossible to resist.

Jiang Jian is a doctor at the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinghua University.

The hospital director’s prized disciple and the unattainable beauty of the affiliated hospital, he stands high above everyone on his pedestal, thanks to his refined, distant good looks. No one has managed to claim him yet.

His female patients, who have a crush on him, wish they could book appointments and get scans every day. Dr. Jiang, however, is so aloof that he shuts out every advance, like a modern-day Tang Sanzang.
