The year 2281: a genetic war rages.
Yuan Che, captain of Mercenary Squad 26 at Human Base, is ordered to enter the Fourth Plain to collect samples.
The artificial magnetic field fails, the communications system collapses, and the base seals the entrance to the Fourth Mountains.
People believe Mercenary Squad 26 died heroically in the line of duty, and hold a memorial ceremony at the city gates.
Yuan Che stands at the city gates, watching the people mourn him.
"Shao Chongsi, I still have goals to accomplish. How could I just stay outside the city like this?"
