A year after switching careers to become a streamer, Fang Yize unexpectedly ran into his former captain and ex-boyfriend from his days as a professional gamer in-game.
The man who had led their team to consecutive championships and stood above the clouds had once been the goal Fang Yize pursued all his life.
When they met again, that man had become the person Fang Yize resented most.
Back then, the team's results had been up and down. The owner pulled their funding, and putting the team up for sale became inevitable.
When they came together, they were a blazing fire. When they parted, they scattered like stars across the sky.
Fang Yize thought he was handling it just fine.
But on the night the transfer announcement that Ji Shize was joining an overseas superteam alongside a talented young player topped the trending charts,
Fang Yize still got blackout drunk.
After reading Ji Shize's message from the day before one last time, the one that said, "Let's keep going next year," Fang Yize deleted every one of Ji Shize's contact details, signed a contract to stay with the old team, and stubbornly held on to the home Ji Shize had abandoned.
*
Ji Shize was a gaming fanatic.
Everyone and everything, including himself, came after results.
People said that someone like Ji Shize would spend his whole life with nothing but games for company.
Ji Shize smiled and neither agreed nor disagreed.
After transferring overseas, Ji Shize got the third championship he had always wanted.
His close friends sent one congratulatory message after another, but Ji Shize spent the whole night watching, frame by frame, the only 42 recordings of Fang Yize's professional matches from the three years they had played together.
He watched the once spirited, still-green kid grow into the captain who carried the team on his shoulders, only to make one mistake, get torn apart by haters, and retire with regrets.
For the first time, Ji Shize felt that he had made the wrong decision.

At the start of the new season, two transfer-period posts topped the trending charts:
[Retired streamer Fang Yize returns to join FCG]
[Three-time champion Ji Shize returns to FCG with a talented young player]
As soon as the posts appeared, everyone immediately imagined a tragic drama about "the original partner tearing into the cheating scumbag and his mistress."
But then,
FCG's first livestream left everyone stunned.
In Fang Yize's stream,
the rumored talented young player sat beside Fang Yize and smiled sheepishly. "I'm here to sneak a few pointers from you, bro."
Meanwhile, Ji Shize's ID was prominently displayed in the stream's captain and moderator lists.
Having just speed-banned someone, Ji Shize looked at the stream chat, which was completely peaceful, and shamelessly tried to take credit with Fang Yize. "Streamer, after all my hard work, can't you give me a smile?"
Fang Yize's face flushed with anger. After a long while, he finally forced out a vicious "Get lost."
You couldn't exactly call it ineffective. It had no effect at all.
Everyone: Tsk, tsk. We thought we'd get a full-blown catfight, but the young player is too sweet, the streamer too innocent, and the moderator too shameless.
Please add my upcoming story to your reading list: Bite Me, Will You? [ABO], featuring a genuinely hot-tempered, hard-hitting bottom x a fake innocent, delicate flower top
S12, the night before the League of Legends World Championship.
Yu Ye's regular suppressants stopped working, and his pheromones instantly went out of control. To preserve his competitive form, he decisively hired a male Alpha model and got a temporary mark.
On the day of the finals, with the back of his neck covered in bite marks, Yu Ye carried four teammates in a livestream watched by millions and claimed the MVP for the losing side.
*
As the esports world's one and only national treasure-level Omega, Yu Ye had been sick of Alphas for ages.
Unfortunately, the team was being rebuilt, and his Beta teammate had retired.
Yu Ye had no choice but to pick an Alpha from the team's trainees to be his teammate, his support, and his pheromone stabilizer.
The new support was called Qi He. He was mild-mannered, never competed for anything, and never complained even when he was at a disadvantage. He seemed like someone anyone could push around, perfectly matching Yu Ye's every fantasy of a "proper, gentle man."
If he didn't want anyone controlling him, he might as well find someone who looked easy to control.
That's what Yu Ye thought on the night Qi He joined the team.
*
The days that followed went just as Yu Ye wanted.
As his support, Qi He followed close behind him, obeying every command without question. His repeated "big brother" coaxed Yu Ye into a honey-sweet, wine-soaked bliss, leaving him so intoxicated that he even willingly broke his ironclad rule: "Even if I die, I will never be marked by an Alpha."
During a break before a match, Yu Ye cornered his sweet, obedient support against a wall in the arena's lounge.
The other man was a head taller than Yu Ye, yet now stood obediently pinned against the wall, making no attempt to resist.
Yu Ye was in heat, his body slick with sweat. He reached out and pulled the Alpha's neck down, tugged open his own shirt collar, and leaned toward Qi He's neck and shoulder, offering him the gland at the back of his neck.
As usual, he ordered the Alpha around, his low voice laced with the uncontrollable gasps of heat.
"Hey, bite me once," he said.
"Just once?" The boy's usually docile face broke into a triumphant smile.
He turned sideways and pinned Yu Ye against the wall with one hand.
The Alpha had lovely canine teeth that always showed when he smiled in interviews. Now they finally pressed firmly against the back of the Omega's neck, like a venomous snake at last capturing its prey, and easily pierced that skin again.
Notes:
1. The game mechanics are inspired by League of Legends. The tournament version is my own, with many fictional details. Please don't overanalyze it or read it as a reflection of real life.
2. A genuinely hot-tempered, hard-hitting bottom x a fake innocent, delicate flower top.
3. The male model the bottom hired that night is the top. Both are each other's first, happy ending.
Theme: Passing the torch between old and new, shining together across generations.
He's just a scumbag, laugh to death, he's just selfish, no need to set up a memorial: D is not loving enough
Uh-huh, although I know that Xiaoze is doing it for his own dream, I feel so unhappy when I think of Ji leaving (I don't know if it counts) and leaving Xiaoze to guard the team alone. After retiring, I still have to go to the team led by Ji [transformed]
One thing to say. Because I follow e-sports, I really don't like this kind of behavior. I look forward to an apology. It's so stupid.
It turns out that Ji Shize also installed positioning on Xiao Ze's mobile phone. I asked him how he found Xiao Ze so quickly.
Gu Qian, your path is narrow.
Want to know if Ji will apologize to Fang?
I love it so much. Can the author finish it in one day (manual dog head)
Recommended by Ks, I think it's so interesting, please give it a try!!!!!
