To make quick money and support his bankrupt family, Lin Jiaqing decided to chase his dream of becoming an entertainer, until...
The carefully recorded singing video she uploaded to a music app received only a handful of comments, all from accounts with selfies of middle-aged men as their profile pictures.

Lu Yuchuan's impression of Lin Jiaqing was still of the taciturn art student in an oversized high school uniform. Then one day, at a bar, someone tugged on his sleeve. Lin Jiaqing was wearing a spaghetti-strap dress that barely reached her knees, and looked up at him timidly, her eyes full of hope.
"Mr. Lu..."
"I really don't want to work hard anymore."
Lin Jiaqing always thought she was just a canary Lu Yuchuan kept on a whim. She had no idea that she was actually the one he had quietly cared for over many years, the love of his life.
