(Announcement: Due to circumstances everyone knows about, this book is permanently on hiatus. If I get the chance, I may start a separate Hunter series about the Fourth Calamity.)
In the Black Organization, most members do not even know this person exists. Of the members with codenames who do know of her, only a handful have ever met Kagoshima Edai. Their few remaining impressions of her are that she is a genius hacker in the intelligence division, and a complete mystery: Champagne.
But when more people talk about her, they all use the same description: a delicate, fragile porcelain doll.
It was as if God had traded everything else about her for that brilliant mind. Her body, afflicted with albinism, was frail, and her life was destined to be short. She was not constantly sick, but she was still fated to be unable to live as freely as an ordinary person or enjoy all the wonderful things life had to offer. It was undeniably a great regret. So, for most of Kagoshima Edai's time, aside from gathering intelligence online, handling cleanup work, and going on missions to conduct interrogations, her greatest pleasure was losing herself in all kinds of games.
Then, one day, after returning from an izakaya, Kagoshima Edai received the game discs she had bought and picked up a remarkably beautiful advertisement for a beta-test game tucked inside.
"Meetings and promises: a truly free, high-level game."
With its bizarre and mysterious equipment and its anything-goes hacker skills, the game gave Kagoshima Edai a sense of satisfaction she had never experienced before. Freed from that weak, frail body, her life became exciting in every way. But after she passed the Hunter Exam, why had this world suddenly become so different?

☆ A work of the renaissance. Updates at noon; other times are for revisions. Two thousand words a day, with Saturdays and Sundays off. If you don't see an update, it means the chapter hasn't passed review.
A Fourth Calamity-style story with no other players: the heroine plays a single-player game. The gameplay is similar to Genshin Impact (for example, climbing walls with your bare hands), but offers even more freedom.
The main setting is the Hunter world, with some Detective Conan plotlines, told across two storylines. The story features extraordinary abilities and items from various anime worlds.
The poor kid has no food and is about to starve, so she gets up to cook.
(Content warning: A self-indulgent work. The heroine pulls lots of outrageous stunts and has a typical player's mindset. She is a genuine member of the Black Organization, not a good person, but she doesn't kill indiscriminately. Multiple love interests; the pairing is undecided.)
Theme: Always hold on to an unending hope for life!
