February 8, editor's note: This is bad. I'm stuck. It's my first time writing this and I have no experience. I'll work on fixing other bugs for now (lies down). Writers who can actually write are amazing. I'm so jealous.
First edit: I debated for a long time, but finally started this. This is the first year of The King's Avatar for me. I went back and reread the novel, and it felt like I was back in middle school: a painful, dark time, but I had The King's Avatar and fanfiction by other writers to keep me company. I mainly started this story to put an end to the ideas I had in middle school. The name Nan Zhizi and her experiences before returning to China were all planned out by me back in middle school. I know there are a lot of unreasonable parts, especially the fact that she became a prodigy at such a young age. But after all these years, this background is so firmly rooted in my mind that I feel little Nan Zhizi ought to be a genius like this. I don't plan to change it. I'll be satisfied if I can slowly finish it and fulfill my middle-school dream. wwwww
Second edit: This is a personal hobby project, so I have no chapters saved up. Updates will happen when they happen. I'll write as far as I get, but I really do hope I can finish it. Sigh (sips tea).
Third edit: This is the first time I've seriously written up an idea for fanfiction (scratches head). I only realized while writing how bad my prose is. It's so upsetting... If you don't like it, please be gentle when you criticize me. There's no synopsis, just all my rambling, because I plan to write this for my future self to read, I guess. Anyway, it's full of my personal style. www
Fourth edit: I can't write battle scenes, aaaaaah! I want to die. I'm just an average Honor of Kings player who can only play Angela. I really don't understand the game's technical terms, and writing battle scenes makes me want to jump off a building. Here's a synopsis update so I can complain (muttering).
Fifth edit: I'm only at chapter two, and I'm already running out of words for the battle scenes. I can't imagine how things will go from here (dead fish eyes). It's 1:30 a.m. I'm going to sleep with my physical copy of The King's Avatar, hoping I'll dream about my darling girl and her team matches ( ).
Sixth edit: So, guys, I feel like the battle scenes are completely nonsensical. Promise me you'll read them without thinking, okay? (kneels)
Seventh edit: Can someone teach me how to write character dialogue? It feels so awkward: "XXX said," "XXX said with a smile," "XXX glanced at YYY." It feels rushed when they're all piled together (rest in peace). OMG, don't criticize me.
Eighth edit: It still felt weird writing the story as taking place in Shanghai, so I changed it to S City. Otherwise, it always felt like the story was happening in the real world. Weird.
Ninth edit: The instance I wrote: looks flashy and impressive, but is actually barren and illogical. In short: a steaming pile of garbage. Don't think too hard about it.
Tenth edit: Sorry, I changed the instance a lot. The main issue is that I could barely find any information about that boss, so I had to make things up. Now it looks like a steaming pile of garbage and is actually a steaming pile of garbage. Would learning to play Honor of Kings help me write better fights? (Polite question.)
