Also known as: Tales of the Taisho Flower District
"I betrayed the parents who were my blood kin. I should have followed them to the afterlife, but instead I clung to life, all because I had seen someone like you."
"You, warm as sunshine and flowers. You, who fed me whitefish porridge in a dark room. You, who watched coldly as I fell into a living hell. Which one of you is the real you?"
[How to Read] This book has three volumes, each telling the story from a different perspective: the courtesan Chiyo, Yuriko, and Mashima Yoshiki. It follows the first-person perspective of an otome game.
You can also start directly with Yuriko's volume without affecting your reading experience.
Chiyoko's Story:
Chiyoko, a girl chosen from a poor family, grows into a courtesan who can stand on her own. Gradually, she discovers that the entire flower district is guarding the same secret, and that secret is also what drove her to become a courtesan.
Yuriko's Story:
Consumed by hatred for her blood kin, Yuriko has lost everything. She is saved from despair, only to be abandoned in the darkness. The storm washes away every sin, but also brings two people face to face in complete honesty. When their identities come to light, what choice will they make?
Mashima's Story:
Those born of hatred are destined to die in love. He is the mastermind, the force behind her tragic fate, the cause of everything.
