Many people live in a remote little city. They are kind and loving, but strongly dislike outsiders. One day, a baby still in swaddling clothes was left at the city gate. The people took pity on him, gave him a home, and watched him grow up. The most powerful person in the city gave the child to a family who had no children of their own.
The city lord was very fond of the child, but his circumstances weren't as good as they might seem. The city lord's own child had been frail and sickly since birth, and there were many expenses. Everyone in the city knew this, and no one questioned the city lord's decision.
The two children met in elementary school and became close. Then, in high school, a stranger suddenly appeared and took away the child who had been found. The city lord's child fell ill as a result... Year after year went by, until the two boys met again, just as they had when they were little. Only the place and time had changed, and so had the people...
The foundling had become extremely distant from others, but he was very gentle toward the frail, sickly boy.
And so their story began.
