(This is my first time writing. The main storyline is mostly BL, with a little BG. There may be quite a few personal headcanons, so please steer clear if that bothers you. Severus x original male lead, Drarry. Any OOC characterization is on me; the rest belongs to Rowling. Of course, I’ll try to keep everyone in character.)
Family background:
The Slote family has produced Ravenclaws and Slytherins for generations. This is a rather unusual family, where ambition and intelligence go hand in hand. The Slote family has at least two or three children in every generation. The most capable child of each generation inherits the position of head of the family.
The Slote family possesses a rare bloodline: the Rose lineage of the flower spirits. (The Rose clan ranks first in power among the flower spirits. Among the spirit clans, they rank in the upper-middle tier.) The bloodline is difficult to awaken. In the generation of Slote’s grandfather, only one person awakened it. No one in his father’s generation has awakened it so far.
Ousebaia is a little sharp-tongued, but not much. He has a great talent for Potions, and is also very gifted in Ancient Runes and the Dark Arts.
(If there are any details that fans of the original series can’t accept, feel free to close this story and go read Rowling’s proper HP world instead. I’ll try not to stray too far from canon.)
