Blurb:
In Kyoto, marriage fraudsters have two preferred types of women to target:
1. Only daughters who are loved by their families.
2. Wealthy women who are 4i.
The first type comes from affluent families and is plentiful, making them the top choice. The fraudster has to keep up an act and patiently pursue them, buying gifts and picking up the bill, before getting them pregnant and claiming their family's substantial wealth.
The second type is rare, like finding a needle in a haystack, so they are the backup choice.
Dating a wealthy 4i woman means no need to pay the bill and only having to give thoughtful gifts. The expenses are minimal, while the rewards are immense. After marriage, a little patience can still get her pregnant, letting the fraudster finally hold his head high.
In this bustling, lively city, countless wronged women die with grievances every day. Right now, a new game is unfolding here, at the Tiandi Club.
A woman falls to her death. A man kneels at the door. A storm of public opinion erupts. Is this an uncontrollable outcome, or a trap planned in advance?
What kind of opportunity is the cold, ruthless boss waiting for?
Behind every woman drawn into the game lies an intricate web of power. Those who betray others will ultimately be burned by the fire they started...
[The boss is the female lead.]
[Powerful, high-ranking, aloof, restrained, and ruthless top x impoverished but ambitious, cool, masculine, charming, and cocky bottom. A straight man is turned gay, then chases his wife to the crematorium.]
[GB, no reversal. The female lead is ruthless and doesn't talk much. She smokes and drinks, and her kinks are a little twisted.]
Warnings:
1. Coercive possession, the man gets abused, and the male lead is a gay marriage fraudster who clings to the female lead.
2. The female lead is 4i before marriage, has countless handsome male supporting characters around her, and has short-term relationships.
3. Told from the female lead's perspective. The male lead's romantic storyline only covers his 4i relationship with her; other relationships are briefly mentioned as part of his characterization.
4. The female lead is the protagonist. Although Qin Zong is the male lead, he gets less page time than she does.
A note from the author:
1. I don't write mainstream GB character types. They're just not my thing.
I don't write GB where a powerful man bows down for love, nor do I write weak women, little girls, sweet girls, or other such characters (I won't write women who are frail, childlike in appearance, or emotionally immature) being doted on by powerful men. I don't want to encourage people to fantasize about weak women dating powerful men in 4i relationships.
In every respect, the female lead is far more powerful than the male lead, and she is far more powerful than just him.
2. If you were able to accept the character types in Suppression, you're probably not going to have too much of a problem with the female lead in this story.
My female leads may differ slightly in the details of their characterization, but they share the same core. This female lead is even more ruthless.
3. Why not just write an ordinary marriage fraudster, instead of a handsome, highly intelligent, gay marriage fraudster from a poor family with so many red flags?
Because I needed a well-rounded character, someone no one could refuse without knowing the truth, someone who always has an excuse ready after each new revelation, and whose excuses only lead from one red flag straight into another. Someone who could ruin your life if you were even a little bit of a romantic fool.
