This is the Divine Mountain Realm, a tribe at the very bottom of the Divine Realm. Each mountain is home to a different clan, most of them little monsters with some cultivation. On the lofty Xizhu Mountain lives a rabbit named Xizhu. Her mother says she hopes Xizhu will grow to be as strong, healthy, and long-lived as the mountain. With her cleverness and wisdom, Xizhu also helps the little animals in the mountains in countless ways. She dreams of one day seeing the mountains beyond her home, like the White-Headed Bird in Master Hu's stories.
That year, the sun was rarely seen over Xizhu Mountain. Dark clouds hung over it all day long. At first, no one paid it much mind, not realizing that such days were growing more frequent, and that the mountain's inhabitants were dying one after another. The mountain folk held a meeting, hoping someone would represent the Divine Mountain and negotiate with the Sun God to save them. In the end, Xizhu was chosen as the new mountain god, and set off for the Sun Palace...
