The Mask Returns

Thanks to Hua Luoyang for the cover.

Over a hundred years ago, she appeared in the Soul Society. And a hundred years ago, she left it. She didn't know how many years had passed in between. She had even forgotten how many worlds she had visited over the past hundred years. She had thought she would never be able to return to her original world, but she never expected that, without even realizing it, she had made it back, this time in the body of a human girl.

The old Gennai Otoju had nothing to do with her. The tennis club had nothing to do with her. All she knew was that she had to return there, and take revenge on that person.

"You can't kill him."

"You talk too much, Nightmare."

Standing beneath the tree, she gazed into the same dusk as before. The blood-red sun hung low in the sky, and fiery clouds stretched into the distance, seemingly without end. Just as she had over a hundred years ago, she looked toward the highest place in the Soul Society, far away.

"I'm back."
