Demon Files

In the age of prehistory, demons split into two factions: the benevolent spirits and the wicked. Their conflicts raged without end. Under Yazi's manipulation, the wicked demons allied with the monsters and wreaked havoc among humanity. The benevolent spirits and humankind sought divine help, sparking a war among Heaven, Earth, and the Mortal Realm. The demons and monsters were defeated, and the gods and demons agreed not to interfere in human affairs.

During the Warring States period, a hundred schools of thought contended as demons and monsters ran rampant. To subdue them, humans and spirits formed the Demon-Slaying Alliance, guarding the four corners of the land and sealing the demons and monsters in ancient texts entrusted to the Yun clan.

Yazi, the second son of the Dragon King, was bloodthirsty, combative, and narrow-minded. Of his eight brothers, only Chaofeng was close to him. Chaofeng took his place and was sealed in the demon-slaying texts. After plotting for a thousand years, Yazi destroyed the texts, scattering their pages.

A thousand years later, the descendants of the Yun clan searched for the pages. In the forty-fifth year of the Kangxi reign, they rewrote the texts and renamed them the Demon and Monster Files. They no longer had the power to seal anything.
