Haikyuu!!: A Love Song

The author loved the characters in the Haikyuu!! anime so much that they imagined a little story of their own, a small, sweet dream.

The story begins with the first episode of the anime. Some plot points may have been forgotten or changed, so please don't flame me. The timeline might be a little messy, and there will be OOC. This is a self-indulgent female-oriented Haikyuu!! spin-off, so please don't flame me if it's not your thing.

"You were born to play volleyball..."

The first words Hanata Ying heard when she was born were her grandfather's: "You were born to play volleyball..."

She was haunted by this "curse" throughout her childhood. She truly was a natural volleyball player, with extraordinary talent, but this was never what she wanted...

At sixteen, her volleyball career was at its peak. She had a shot at joining the national youth team and was a favorite to win the championship. Everyone called her "The Tiger."

In the end, "The Tiger" came to be known mockingly as "The Fallen Star."

That year, however, she was injured at a tournament in Tokyo. Tired and fed up, she gave up volleyball and returned to her hometown in Miyagi Prefecture with her grandfather. She hid everything about herself and became an ordinary person. But the Karasuno High School her grandfather chose for her meant she was destined to remain extraordinary.

Tsukishima, sharp-tongued but always walking her to school in the morning; Hinata, a sunny boy like a sunflower beneath the bright sun; Kageyama, quiet but pure-hearted, with affection hidden inside; and Kozume Kenma, who kept her company through the dull hours in the hospital room and warmed Hanata Ying's heart...

They all help her find her true self.
