Yu Duoduo has one surname, spelled two different ways. She has two homes, but not a single bed of her own.

At eighteen, she got into an ordinary four-year university. To save up for her living expenses, she became a food delivery rider.

After just three days, she had paid for and eaten many things she had never tried before. In a narrow alley under the scorching sun, she met someone leaning against a wall, utterly exhausted.

That summer was full of hope, anxiety, and busyness, and of meeting again and again. When she was close to giving up on ever making it to campus, the person she met helped her.

His name was Lu Ci. At eighteen, he had missed the college entrance exam and lost his only dog and his only family member.

His future seemed destined to be filled with the foul smoke of internet cafes and an empty house. Then, by chance, he met a little sun struggling hard to keep going, and he found himself drawing closer to her, little by little...

Short scene 1:

"I've run into you so many times. There's something I've always wanted to ask you: You're not even an adult yet, so why are you out delivering food?"

Yu Duoduo: "...I'm not only an adult, I'm four months older than you."

Lu Ci looked down at the small head that barely reached his chest and the soft, light-yellow hair. Suddenly, he reached out and gently ruffled it, as carefully as if he were touching a cloud.

By the lake on a summer night,

Yu Duoduo sat beside Lu Ci.

After listening to him tell her about his life, she stole a glance at him.

His eyes seemed veiled by a thin mist, with all the stars in the sky just beyond it.

From that moment on, one thing was added to Yu Duoduo's plans for the future:
