Chen Qinan has a falling-out with his parents and flies to Yunnan with his good friend Lu Jingzhou for a trip.
A light rain starts, so they take shelter at Laiyun Travel and stay at Cheng Jin's guesthouse for a month.
Lu Jingzhou has a thing for beauties. He asks, “Boss, how many people have you dated?”
Who knows how long they've been chatting, but the man sitting silently to one side finally cuts him a glance. He just watches and listens without saying a word.
“I've never dated anyone. I'm not interested.”
Lu Jingzhou doesn't notice the tension in the air and brazenly says, “Then why not consider me?”
“Ow!” Lu Jingzhou yelps as someone kicks him.
Chen Qinan speaks up. “She'd never pick you, no matter who she likes.”
More than half a month later.
“Jinjie, Jinjie, I really think Qinan is into you.” Lu Jingzhou has long since stopped calling her Boss and now treats her like a little sister.
Cheng Jin patiently shakes her head. Impossible.
One night, they watch the lights in people's homes from the rooftop balcony.
A breeze tosses her hair. Chen Qinan hooks a finger behind her ear, then is just about to lower his hand.
Quick, heavy footsteps sound behind them, and Lu Jingzhou shouts, “Damn, you're doing this sort of thing behind my back?!!”
The two of them turn around in surprise and give Lu Jingzhou a few awkward smiles.
[Little scene]
Dining out.
Chen Qinan's fingertips rest on the tabletop. Beneath the thin skin on the back of his hand, blue veins stand out, clearly defined and brimming with strength.
He flips through a few pages of the menu and asks her, “What do you want to eat?”
“Anything.”
He won't give up. “Isn't there anything you feel like eating?”
“I'll eat whatever you eat.”
At that, he looks a little displeased.
Seeing this, Cheng Jin patiently answers, “No, I really can eat anything.”
“Is that so?” Chen Qinan's voice is lazy and roguish. He quirks his lips. “Not a picky eater.”
Then he says sarcastically, “You must be easy to keep.”
