Xu Nuo has idolized the greatest swordsman in the land, Li Bai, since childhood and is determined to become the strongest swordsman. Despite his family's objections, he resolutely enters the martial world.
Li Bai is the strongest assassin in the Taibai Tower. Anyone named on the Taibai Writ will be hunted down by the tower. Because of Yang Yuhuan, Li Bai betrays the tower's master. In the end, his name is carved forever onto the Taibai Writ, and assassins across the land come after him. Thus, Li Bai takes on the hostility of assassins from all over the world by himself.
After Li Bai wipes out her family, Yang Yuhuan vows to become a swordswoman and take her revenge on him. She later meets Xu Nuo and, together with Li Bai, who is now living under an assumed name, roams the martial world. Li Bai becomes something of a little master to the two of them. The three ultimately embark on a love-hate entanglement that ends in tragedy.
