What kind of mage doesn't use magic?

When Violet was little, he thought magic was the most useful thing in the world. Then he saw a black-clad vigilante with cat ears knock out one kid after another with a single punch, then tie up the mages who had come to cause trouble in Gotham like a string of candied hawthorns.

Violet: "..." From now on, I'm a melee mage, thanks!

The serious version:

After his sixth birthday, Violet learned that his biological father's name was Bruce Wayne. To give him a taste of fatherly love, Violet was packed off to Gotham.

After seeing scams, robberies, and gang fights, Violet became intensely interested in the vigilantes here. He even shamelessly acted cute and begged his biological father, hoping to bribe his wealthy benefactor Wayne into letting him hitch a ride in the Batmobile.

The next day, as he stared at the basement door, violently broken open,

Violet: So Batman really does live in the Wayne basement!

Batman: ...
