[Korean Showbiz] The Idol with Unmatched Fighting Skills

In 2021, SM Entertainment suddenly debuted a new girl group. They were Aeguile, a four-member twin group with the same wilderness AI concept as Aespa. It immediately got a lot of people talking: [So Aespa really is an eight-member group?] [Are the girls AI or real people?] [Does "twin group" mean they all look alike?] [With both the twin-group and wilderness concepts, SM doesn't even need to spend extra on marketing.] After the four members' teaser photos were released one by one: [I'll say it: Aespa clears them easily.] [I think this twin group would've been better off not debuting...] SM had always followed the principle of first tearing someone down, then building them up. Not only did they release misleading photos to ride on the hype around the wilderness concept and their senior group, they also spread dating rumors between new member Lin Yuexia and a senior artist. For a while, everyone once again thought, "Our company is doomed." But after officially debuting with a love-to-hate reputation, Lin Yuexia didn't disappoint: She immediately claimed the title of the prettiest of the five. She performed real fight scenes in the music video, looking gorgeous as she claimed the title of the strongest of the five. She was the only one among the five strong enough to appear on a physical competition show. She competed for the title of the best singer among the five with her incredible high notes. She became the most high-end member of the five, landing a major brand endorsement right after debuting. The group also successfully transformed from a twin group riding on another group's popularity into the leading girl group of the wilderness concept. Just as everyone was happily watching the two AI girl groups' eye-catching collaboration stage at the year-end show, the concept change for their first full-length album caught everyone off guard: The first rule of the wilderness: No one is your friend forever. The twin group transformed straight into an enemy group. One stunning fight scene after another filled the music video. Their style moved from AI to neo. And Aeguile's concept was only just beginning... * 1. All group members are original characters. 2. Aeguile is pronounced "Ay-guh-oh." 3. The classic formula: one-sided love in the beginning, then one-on-one romance later. Theme: Live well and keep striving.
