After Being Reborn, I Can't Shake Off My Ex

[Two people reborn, a love rekindled after heartbreak, a scummy, smooth-talking, arrogant top × a beautiful, rational, reserved bottom] After Wen Yin died in a laboratory accident, his ex-boyfriend Xie Shiran wept uncontrollably at his memorial service. Clinging to the edge of the coffin, he kept calling, “Yinyin,” and insisted on lifting the cloth for one last look. Later, Xie Shiran mourned Wen Yin and doggedly investigated who was responsible for the accident, working countless nights without sleep or proper meals. He bought Wen Yin’s old home, funded his student, and finally died in a drunk-driving accident on the fifth anniversary of Wen Yin’s death. Wen Yin, who was already dead, knew none of this. He was reborn in the best days of his youth, back in high school, the summer he transferred to No. 1 High and first met Xie Shiran. After seeing his ex again years later, the first thing Wen Yin thought of was Xie Shiran’s declaration when they broke up: “Even a dog won’t go back to its old vomit. I, Xie Shiran, will never come back to you!” Reborn, Wen Yin was even more determined: Great. Even a dog won’t go back to its old vomit. In this life, I, Wen Yin, will never be with you. When choosing seats, he made sure not to sit beside him. When adjusting his score on exams, he made sure not to compete with him. He switched cleaning duty to another class so they wouldn’t be partners, and blocked him on WeChat before he could add him. Wen Yin thought with relief: In this life, he can go to Tsinghua while I go to Peking University. Bye-bye! But after arriving at No. 1 High, why did things keep feeling more and more wrong? The Xie Shiran who had strutted around like he owned the place in high school now seemed to have become his sidekick. Wherever Wen Yin went, Xie Shiran was there. He was always saying suggestive things and getting handsy. Once, he even called him “old flame” in a slip of the tongue. Unless Wen Yin had heard wrong, he’d definitely called him “wife”! Even when Xie Shiran cornered Wen Yin in the equipment room, or when the dean caught them dating and called their parents, Wen Yin still couldn’t understand: What on earth was going on? Why was that bastard Xie Shiran so happy even after their parents had been called in?! Why was he happy? Xie Shiran thought. Of course, it was because the person he had missed was finally back. In this life, he would stay by his side and protect him, and never let them part again. Theme: Youth has its own longings
