"Everyone says that Jiumo Eyaer, who saved the world single-handedly eight hundred years ago, was a legendary mage."
"He was beautiful, intelligent, rational, calm, and composed."
"His talent was unparalleled. He was the most extraordinary person of his era, with countless followers."
"Someone as perfect as him... What gives you the right to compare yourself to him?"
"So, take my advice and change your name already."
"If your name gets out, countless fanatical followers will come after you."
As the boy in front of him kept rambling, Jiumo Eyaer remained expressionless.
"Move aside. You're blocking my sunlight."
**
Jiumo Eyaer had black hair, emerald eyes, and the delicate appearance of someone born sickly.
His frail frame seemed as though a gust of wind could knock him over. His face was pale and weak, and his jade-green eyes seemed steeped in tenderness and endless springtime. Together, these features fooled everyone who met him.
Other people thought he had achieved what he had through ninety-nine point nine percent hard work and zero point one percent magical talent.
Really?
No.
He did it with almost one hundred percent talent and practically no effort at all.
No one knew that his talent was the finest in the world.
Without exception.
In other people's eyes, Jiumo Eyaer was extremely frail and could not be cured.
While his peers sweated through their training and pushed themselves to the limit, he was the only one lounging beneath the trees, receiving the care and affection of his elders.
People pitied him, believing that no matter how hard he tried, he would never keep up with them.
They had no idea he was enjoying himself.
After all, if pretending to be sick meant skipping training, why not do it?
He never expected that he would overdo the act and end up cherished by countless prodigies, who saw him as their one and only light.
He noticed, being right there among them, but paid it no mind.
Until a hundred years later, when the Demon Realm broke through its seal. Strange energy surged against the world, an army of tens of thousands of demons descended, and countless living beings were transformed. In an instant, the world teetered on the brink of collapse.
With no other choice, Jiumo Eyaer stepped forward and put himself in danger.
As everyone watched in grief, he exhausted his strength and fell into a deep sleep.
Jiumo Eyaer, who had made a hollow copy of himself and happily slipped away: Off to live a carefree, lazy life in seclusion!
But he never imagined that after only eight hundred years of lounging around, someone would dig him out of his hiding place.
Seeing the anguished, frenzied looks in the eyes of his "good friends," Jiumo turned and ran.
Don't come any closer!!!
A few things to know before reading:
1. The male lead has the greatest talent in this novel. No arguments.
2. Tapping the screen: His illness is fake, his laziness is real. He's a carefree, shameless little slacker with a chaotic neutral nature. He knows right from wrong but does whatever he pleases. Stunning beauty + non-romantic harem magnet. No CP.
If this isn't your thing, please hurry up and hit the X to get out of here!!! (shouting)
3. The story is slow to warm up and has three stages: "present-past-present." The flashbacks take up a large part of the story. I'll give you a heads-up in the author's notes.
4. Unless something unexpected happens, expect jealousy and vying for attention (?), harem magnet (?), a love rivalry (?), getting exposed (?) and scenes where they chase him, he runs, and he can't escape even if he grows wings (?).
5. At heart, this is a self-indulgent story. I've let myself go, and as long as I'm having fun, that's all that matters (hehe).
6. My writing skills are limited. Please don't leave mean comments if you don't like it. Thanks for understanding.
Theme: In the end, you have to save your own world yourself.
