After Being Carried Off by the Enemy Prince

1.

Yuan Jinghe transmigrated into a book, becoming a trashy passerby who humiliated the protagonist when he was injured and trapped in a cave. In the end, the protagonist would chop him into pieces.

By the time Yuan Jinghe transmigrated, the original owner had already stripped the protagonist completely naked.

Yuan Jinghe: ...

He met the protagonist's cold, dark eyes and tried to salvage the situation.

So he stared at the protagonist's naked body with a solemn expression. "Your injuries are too severe. We need to apply medicine right away."

He figured that since he hadn't humiliated the protagonist, the protagonist probably wouldn't kill him. The Third Prince did not kill him, but he did take him back to Great Zhou.

2.

The road to becoming emperor is hard, and an emperor's heart is hard to fathom.

Yuan Jinghe thought so too. Zhou Yun Zhao sometimes treated him extremely well, and sometimes punished him severely.

He found it hard to define his relationship with Zhou Yun Zhao. Some people said he was a kept lover, but he didn't think that was quite right.

Zhou Yun Zhao would hold him while they chatted, teach him military strategy, tease him for being stupid, and say tender things to him late at night. When he was tired, he would also sit quietly with Yuan Jinghe, leaning against him.

Yuan Jinghe had seen every side of Zhou Yun Zhao: his cunning cruelty, his vulnerability and darkness, his ideals and ambitions. He had seen all of Zhou Yun Zhao, good and bad.

He felt that he had touched Zhou Yun Zhao's soul. He felt that they were close.

Until one day, he heard Zhou Yun Zhao say with a laugh, "He's only a kept lover. If Imperial Brother likes him, he can have him."

He couldn't remember how he left. That future wise ruler, the one who had once made him swear late at night that he would stay by his side forever, now wanted to give him away.

He no longer dared hope for an emperor's affection. He found an opportunity and ran away.

3.

A year later, Zhou Yun Zhao ascended the throne and set about choosing an empress.

The young farmer Yuan Jinghe sat on the ridge between the fields, biting into a steamed bun and listening to everyone discuss the news as if it were gossip. Then he smiled along with them.

Meanwhile, in the imperial palace, rows of hidden guards knelt on the ground as the young emperor said, word by word, "Find him. Bring him back."

Bring back my empress.
