The Chen family took him in and raised him, but because of his unusual golden-amber eyes, even by interstellar standards, and the Chens' attitude toward him, rumors have always swirled. People ignore and dislike him. The year he turns eighteen, he repays the Chen family for raising him, hides the three exotic-beast eggs he found, and earns a place at the Alliance Military Academy. After exotic beasts wreak havoc across the stars, several major military academies expand their admissions. His three roommates may be fierce, but they treat him fairly well. Shen An tries to be a decent, law-abiding person while secretly earning money to raise the little ones hatching from his eggs, working hard to settle on the Alliance's central planet. Then Shen An starts to feel that something is wrong. Not only does his back itch, but a little golden horn has grown on his head?? What exactly is he? As Shen An puzzles over it, the dormitory door opens. His outgoing, influential roommate, who knows Shen is hiding the eggs and has kept his secret, comes in straight from training, radiating heat. His gaze fixes on Shen An's little horn. Ji Chen: "Cute. Can I touch it?" Shen An: ??? Are you going to sexually harass me? Nearly twenty years ago, their family suffered devastating losses during the exotic-beast calamity and had no choice but to 'abandon' a dead egg. A little monster? A pitiable kid who is always bullied? Everyone knows the Dragon people's taboos: never covet a Dragon's treasure, never touch the horns on a Dragon's head, and never lay a hand on a Dragon, because they fiercely protect their own.
