Rite of Ice

Leng Po transmigrates into a brainless Western fantasy novel full of angsty romance, becoming the evil female villain's sidekick and the first random extra to be killed off. The more precious life is, the more awful all those love-addled characters become. She racks her brains for ways to avoid the lunatics, seizes every chance to train, and vows to reach the pinnacle of magic and attain an immortal body. Nolan is the fourth prince of the Kingdom of Herman. With no mother to protect him from childhood, he has to keep his identity as a battle-aura prodigy firmly under wraps, pretending to be a nobody just to survive. He wants a fief of his own, far from the palace's sordid affairs. The problem is that the place he's set his sights on is cold and desolate, and no noblewoman is willing to marry him. Without a queen, he can't get a fief. But with a fief under such harsh conditions, he can't find a wife either. The fourth prince feels as though life has him wedged between two brick walls, unable to move. Then he discovers Leng Po. She trains hard and keeps a low profile, just like another version of himself. An ice mage won't fear the cold. If he gives her all the fief's ice-element ore and offers her the position of his one and only queen, surely she won't refuse to marry him. Faced with the fourth prince's proposal, Leng Po rapidly calculates the pros and cons. A woman can't just avoid marriage forever. The fourth prince is handsome and well-built, with a cold personality and few words. He outranks the male lead by a mile, and marriage would get her a vast fief. From then on, she could live far away from all the idiots. In a few years, he'd also be going off to fight in the holy war, leaving her plenty of free time to train. Why not marry him? After they marry, Leng Po realizes she's been had. Beneath the prince's cold exterior is a clingy golden retriever's heart. The people in the territory need help desperately, and war logistics keep everyone on their feet around the clock. As she gazes up at the distant pinnacle of magic, high above the clouds, Leng Po silently swallows a mouthful of blood. Theme: Your fate is in your own hands
