Kittens Have Plenty of Devious Ideas

Mu Bai had a nemesis he'd been competing with for 23 years: Lin Qingyun.

Ever since they lay side by side in their incubators, Lin Qingyun had been competing at every opportunity. Worse, he always won!

Mu Bai's family didn't take it seriously.

His father held a teacup and said, "What's there to panic about? We, the Mu family, get whatever we want."

Faced with such a domineering father, Mu Bai felt deeply ashamed and worked even harder.

One day, he attended a banquet while sick and became delirious with fever.

When he woke up again, he found himself transformed into a pink-pawed, orange-and-white cat, held in Lin Qingyun's arms.

Terrified, he flailed all four paws, leaped out of Lin Qingyun's embrace, and stumbled all the way home.

His father merely glanced at him and said, "Oh, you've finally transformed."

Only then did Mu Bai learn that the Mu family had cat-demon blood, and everyone transformed upon reaching adulthood. He had transformed late because he hadn't been getting enough sleep.

Since his form was unstable during the transformation period, Mu Bai's father gave him six months off. But Mu Bai wasn't having it. He and Lin Qingyun were locked in fierce competition. How could he stand to leave the stage?

So he came up with a plan: become a cat, a cat that would leave Lin Qingyun dazed and senseless!

He would make Lin Qingyun addicted to cats, leaving him no energy to compete with Mu Bai.

After successfully infiltrating enemy territory, Mu Bai's daily routine became this:

Lin Qingyun worked, and Mu Bai hooked his tail around Lin Qingyun's wrist, getting in the way of his paperwork.

Lin Qingyun attended meetings, and Mu Bai kneaded his lap with his paw pads, distracting him.

Lin Qingyun stayed up late, and Mu Bai glared at him with round eyes, meowing and whining until he went to bed.

Seeing the number of cat-related items in the Lin household grow and most of Lin Qingyun's energy go into caring for his cat, Mu Bai, who was being pampered until his fur gleamed, smiled smugly.

"Go on, keep competing! Keep it up, and I won't let you enjoy my fluffy fur!"
