Also known as "I Only Came to Ship the Couples"
Mu Nan Heng transmigrated. He'd been lying in bed reading a novel when suddenly there was a loud "crack" and he was gone. Which book he'd ended up in was a long story...
Anyway, he'd transmigrated into his own high school deskmate. He looked up and met his beloved homeroom teacher's eyes. With his perfect 20/20 vision, he saw the chalk in the teacher's hand about to snap against the blackboard.
Oh, he was now the top student Ran Yunfeng.
Thanks for asking. This was really a pain in the ass.
So when the seventeen-year-old version of himself showed up, Mu Nan Heng, no, Ran Yunfeng, didn't really feel like dealing with him. He only wanted to ship the original novel's couple and study hard. But when he saw Mu Nan Heng staring blankly at a book during break, he couldn't help but butt in and point to the quotation he'd copied down: "You read Dreaming of the Lost Star too?"
Then Ran Yunfeng saw his younger self look up, light spreading through his eyes.
His own reflection was there in that light.
When Ran Yunfeng revealed everything he'd let slip and everything he'd kept hidden,
and Mu Nan Heng embraced him,
he no longer had to be on guard.
An unconventional self-pairing story: Ran Yunfeng, a miserable office worker who finds himself back in high school after years in the workforce, x Mu Nan Heng, a sensitive, insecure boy who loves putting on a brave front. The original novel's couple is also a self-pairing, heh. They switch roles. More details will appear in the bonus chapters after the main story ends, though I might write a separate story if there's too much to cover.
Theme: No one will be with you to the end of your life except yourself.
