A Wealthy Beauty in the 1960s

After graduating from university, Zhang Xuyu took a job in the publicity department of Hancheng Cotton Mill No. 1.

She knew this was only a temporary position during a transitional period in her life.

As the only child in her family, she carried the hopes of both sides of the family.

To some extent, the course of her life would determine the fate of the entire family.

So she had been rational and self-disciplined since childhood. Even when she met a man who stirred her heart in her early twenties, she only watched him from afar.

Then her family arranged a blind date for her. Her close friend worried she might marry a stranger without knowing him and asked whether she had looked into the man.

She smiled faintly. She had checked his family background, education, and work history, but his character was the one thing she hadn't needed to investigate.

Her friend said she was too rational, able to calmly weigh the pros and cons of even her own feelings and marriage prospects.

Zhang Xuyu didn't say much in reply. Later, though, she happened to realize that this blind date seemed like a pretty good guy after all.
