The Self-Cultivation of a Playgirl's White Moonlight

Only after Jiang Jiyun died did he learn that he was a character in a melodramatic danmei reverse-harem novel. But he wasn't the dazzling, universally adored protagonist shou who stole the show wherever he went. He was the gong leads' "white moonlight," the one who had died three years before the novel even began.

His only purpose in the entire story was to "selflessly" let the protagonist shou, who looked very much like him, bask in his halo. The shou was fawned over and showered with affection and money by all the gong leads looking for a substitute. And in the end, even the genuine feelings the gong leads gave him after they stopped treating him as a stand-in were claimed by the protagonist shou.

System: "Are you angry? You did all the work, while someone else got the glory, and you ended up as cannon fodder. So, Host, now that you've been given another chance, take back what's yours..."

"Tsk, tsk." Jiang Jiyun leafed through the original novel and shook his head critically. "Zhou Simo really is hopeless. She was given a chance and still couldn't make it work. And her taste in men is terrible. Out of all those guys, she picked these ones? They're all at the bottom of my ex-boyfriend rankings."

The System stared at him, dumbfounded. "Huh? What exes? What rankings? ...How many exes do you have?"

"Oh. If you don't count those relationships in high school that lasted two or three months before we broke up, probably eighteen."

"..."

The System nearly fainted on the spot. Could its data be wrong? Jiang Jiyun was supposed to be the pure, flawless white moonlight in everyone's heart, radiating an irresistible halo. How the hell was he a player?!

--

The System's task only required Jiang Jiyun to reclaim everything that belonged to him as the novel's cannon-fodder white moonlight. As an unconventional player of a white moonlight, Jiang Jiyun had clearly gone above and beyond.

The System watched as a crowd of men, all desperately in love with Jiang Jiyun, followed at his heels. Even the protagonist shou was among them.

System: Silence is tonight's Cambridge. If possible, please let all my future Hosts meet this standard!

1. This is a gong-protagonist story, a gong-protagonist story, a gong-protagonist story! I'm saying it three times because it's important. If you don't like gong protagonists, please don't derail the comments.

2. The author is stupid and writes badly. If you don't want to read it, leave, but don't insult me.

3. The protagonist is a player, not a perfect character, but the author loves him, so he's universally adored.
