A trip to the underworld showed him that it was nothing like he had imagined.

The next day, a soul reaper showed up at his door and invited him to join up: "How about working as a spirit guide?"

Each of these cases turned Shen Bai's understanding of the world upside down.

While investigating them, Shen Bai unexpectedly got involved in bringing the underworld's information systems up to date.

Feng Du sends Shen Bai good-morning and good-night texts every day, but never gets a reply.
