Lin Daiyu is reborn after hanging herself in the Jade Belt Forest, returning to the time when her mother, Jia Min, is gravely ill. She had planned to defy fate and change her destiny, but discovers that she simply cannot. In her grief, she offers her life as a blood sacrifice, opening a passage through time and space to ask people from other worlds for help.
Lin Yan, the 34th-century commander-in-chief of the three armies who saved the apocalypse, gladly accepts, taking Lin Daiyu's place in the world of Dream of the Red Chamber. Armed with a spatial weapons arsenal and gifted with supernatural powers and medical skills, Lin Yan wields a longsword in one hand and silver needles in the other.
