The Sudden-Drop-In Top Laner [Esports]

Ever since the team got a new owner, Ji Yan has had just three things to do every day: eat, sleep, and curse out the top laner. There's only one reason: in his eyes, this popular new top laner is a nepotism hire, brought in to take the spot of his former teammate. He also has a close gaming friend he's known for years. Whenever Ji Yan has a bit of free time, he loves complaining to him about the top laner: "Nepotism hire, total pretty boy." "A pretty boy who doesn't even have his own account." "A pretty boy who steals other people's techniques, too." As the matches go on, his complaints gradually change to: "...A pretty boy with some skill." "A pretty boy with good luck." Then one day, as if he'd discovered some earth-shattering secret, he couldn't wait to message his friend: "Damn, I think he's gay. He's into men!" To his surprise, his usually aloof friend abandoned his customary dismissive "..." reply and calmly asked, "Does that bother you?" It's not like it bothers him, but why does this pretty boy keep staring at him? Not long afterward, he was shocked again. "Damn, he confessed to me!!" His friend asked very sincerely, "...Do you like him?" Like him? Hell no! I like women! Well... maybe not entirely... After the world championship ended, Ji Yan got his wish and won the trophy. On the night of the celebrations, he discovered two secrets. One: This pretty boy is the mysterious new owner of their club. Two: This pretty boy is his gaming buddy, the one he tells everything to. Ji Yan was devastated. So all those things he'd said before...
