A sweet, timid little princess who is easy to bully × a cold, hard-hearted commander who loves to bully people
The commander's everyday life of doting on his wife, as the soft little princess runs away while pregnant | Petite heroine and burly hero, with a nine-year age gap
Blurb:
Emperor Yongchang was depraved and tyrannical, imposing heavy taxes and levies. Heroes rose up across the land, and the dynasty stood on the brink of collapse.
The Fifteenth Princess, Yuan Yurou, was born to a lowly dancing girl. She endured bullying from childhood and grew up timid and meek. But she inherited her mother's beauty, with a delicate, lovely appearance and the looks of a celestial maiden.
To appease and win over Xiao Dingyuan, the resourceful and brave warlord of the northwest, the Grand Commander of Hexi, Emperor Yongchang sent her far away to marry him in the northwest.
Xiao Dingyuan's father and elder brother had both died because of Emperor Yongchang. He longed to take the emperor's head and avenge them.
At the entrance to the Xiao residence, the delicate little princess arrived from thousands of miles away, dressed in a bright red wedding gown.
Xiao Dingyuan gently lifted her beautiful face, but his words were as cold as ice: "The daughter of that dog emperor isn't worthy of being my wife. You may enter this household only as a concubine."
"Serve me well from now on, and there'll be a bowl of rice for you in the Xiao household."
Yuan Yurou had endured bullying since childhood, so this humiliation was nothing to her.
After entering the household, she treated Xiao Dingyuan with gentle attentiveness, serving him cautiously and hoping to live out her days in peace.
Until Xiao Dingyuan reunited the realm and ascended the throne as emperor. His ministers urged him to fill the imperial harem.
Yuan Yurou gently touched her slightly rounded belly. Unwilling to let her child live the life she had lived, she seized an opportunity to fake her death and flee far away.
Xiao Dingyuan was arrogant and ruthless. He had let Yuan Yurou into his household to humiliate Emperor Yongchang.
Seeing his enemy's daughter defer to him and flatter him day after day pleased him greatly. Night after night, he went further, bullying her until tears streamed down her face.
In the hazy night, the delicate young woman had skin as pale as snow and smooth as jade, with a slender waist and graceful figure, so lovely that anyone would feel tenderness toward her.
At some point, his love for her took root and grew wildly. He could no longer bear to make her shed a single tear.
When he suddenly heard that Yuan Yurou had died along with her unborn child, the new emperor, usually so composed and rational that he never furrowed his brow even in the face of fire and sword, was so grief-stricken that he spat blood and spent night after night drowning himself in wine.
A little scene:
Yuan Yurou had settled into a quiet, peaceful life in a small town south of the Yangtze.
But one stormy night, three thousand imperial guards surrounded her little courtyard, and Xiao Dingyuan burst through the door, drenched from head to toe.
Yuan Yurou was cornered by the bed with nowhere to escape, her hands instinctively trying to conceal her prominently rounded belly.
Xiao Dingyuan gently caressed the lovely face he had longed for day and night, his anger blazing and phoenix eyes bloodshot. "A Rou, you deceived me so cruelly."
The new emperor hated the last ruler of the previous dynasty most of all. Now that the former dynasty's princess, who had faked her death and escaped, had been caught by him, surely he would torture her to death.
Yet in the depths of winter, amid the falling snow, the supreme emperor stood outside Yuan Yurou's courtyard for more than two hours, just for the chance to enter and see her.
Reading notes:
◎ The hero will be quite awful early on, teasing and tormenting the heroine, but he won't cause her any real harm (a kink).
◎ This is not a tragic love story of hatred and heartbreak. The hero falls for the heroine at first sight and is physically attracted to her. He has always doted on her while keeping a cold expression.
◎ The political machinations are simple, and the story is heavily focused on romance. Everything revolves around the development of the couple's relationship.
◎ Old-school melodrama. They are each other's one and only, in body and heart.
◎ The dynasty is fictional, and the author has made up plenty of details. Please don't scrutinize them.
Theme: Face life's difficulties with courage and perseverance, and work hard to create a better future.
